Coco an eye-catcher at farmers market

Coco, a blue-and-yellow Macaw parrot, seems to be asking his best mate, Amelia Suter, a question. More than likely he is asking her why all the folks at the Friday morning farmers market in Boitanio Park keep staring at him.

Coco, a blue-and-yellow Macaw parrot, seems to be asking his best mate, Amelia Suter, a question. More than likely he is asking her why all the folks at the Friday morning farmers market in Boitanio Park keep staring at him.

The large, beautiful, exotic parrot (owned by Amelia’s mother, Shari) was certainly drawing a crowd of curious spectators to Amelia’s produce/baking stall at the market. Coco speaks some words and phrases in English as well as a smattering of Russian (which he learned from his previous owner).

He also performs some tasks on command. Generally found in South America, these large parrots make special pets because of their high intelligence and their ability to speak although they require much more care than many pet birds because of their large size.
