Children’s book drive

Children can outgrow books just the same as they grow out of their jeans and shoes.

Children can outgrow books just the same as they grow out of their jeans and shoes.  The Bright Red Bookshelf program would love to have those children’s books to share with others in Williams Lake.

Cariboo Chilcotin Partners for Literacy maintains 16 bright red bookshelves in public places in the city.

More than 5,000 children’s books circulate through these bookshelves each year, providing free books for children and their families.

The April Book Drive is CCPL’s most visible effort to collect gently used children’s books to keep these bookshelves full.

Volunteers clean, label and distribute books weekly.

Donations of children’s books can be left at Heartland Toyota, CRD Williams Lake Library branch, The Salt Jar Thrift Store, local elementary schools or any one of the 16 bookshelves located around the city.
