Chilcotin Road PAC hosts Ladies Night

Ladies Night planned to raise funds for new playground equipment for Chilcotin Road Elementary school.

The Chilcotin Road Elementary School parent advisory council is hosting a Ladies Night this month to raise money for new playground equipment. Event spokesperson Tracey Ofstie says the old, wooden playground equipment the school has for intermediate students is unsafe and parts are not available to repair it.

As a result the Chilcotin Road PAC is trying to raise $40,000 for new playground equipment for the intermediate students.

The Ladies Night event takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 at the school and will feature displays by local home-based businesses.

“There are now 30 different small businesses signed up, something to see for everyone,” Ofstie says. “Come see what Williams Lake small businesses have to offer you.  All proceeds from the table rentals, door prizes, and popcorn sales go toward new playground equipment for Chilcotin Road Elementary School.”

Participating small businesses/vendors will be donating something toward door prizes that will be raffled during the evening for $1 per ticket.

SPCA volunteers will also be providing coffee, tea and virgin martinis with all funds they raise going to the SPCA.

Vendors will include suppliers of home and personal care products such as chemical-free cleaning products, make-up, skin-care products, kitchen utensils and dish-ware, soaps and candles,  jewelry, handbags, storage products, bath products, clothing, photography, gourmet sauces and spices, greeting cards, gift wrap and much more.
