Chester Calhoun is lovingly remembered

Chester Lloyd Calhoun was born March, 2, 1951 and passed away in Sudbury, Ont. Jan. 14, 2013 at the age of 61.

Chester’s sons and family, Brian (Rachel) Malachi, Darren (Grace) Noah, Shalom, Aziella and Marcia Calhoun are announcing his passing.

Chester worked for Gibraltar Mines 22 years as a millwright and maintenance foreman, Endako Mines in Fraser Lake for two years and Dressler Rand in Alberta and Ontario.

He was born in North Vancouver, but grew up in the small resort community of Christina Lake, B.C.

He enjoyed the outdoors was a Scout member and leader. Sports were an active part of his life, playing baseball, soccer and volleyball.

He loved watching hockey at all levels and was a hockey coach when his sons played in the Minor Hockey system.

Music, dancing and laughter were a big enjoyment in his life.

He is sadly missed by is wife Lenore in Sudbury, four step-daughters and their families. Lovingly remembered by his brothers Mitch (Alice) and Mike (Marg) Calhoun of Vernon, his nieces and nephews in B.C. and Alta. and their families, also his uncle and aunts, cousins and their families in the lower mainland and in Ontario.  He was predeceased by his parents Chester and Phyllis Calhoun, oldest brother Harold Calhoun and nephew Ken Calhoun.

A celebration of Chester’s life will be held at a later date.

Donations in his memory can be made to the Northern Cancer Foundation.  Cooperative Funeral Home of Sudbury, Ont. was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.

Chester touched the lives of many people on his earthly journey.

May he rest in peace.
