The Selkie Bride

Miss White Spider (Al-Lisa McKay) will be performing her intricate shadow theatre piece of The Selkie Bride at the Williams Lake Studio Theatre in Glendale. The live shadow puppetry performance draws from Scottish folklore and is a tale originating in the Orkney Isles and Al-Lisa’s own love of the sea.

Centered around a woman of the Selkie folk, creatures who are able to shed their skin to take human form. Through projection, puppetry and her own musical compositions, Al-Lisa draws audiences into her world for a spell-binding performance filled with magic and art.

Tickets for the performance are $15 and are available at the Open Book and Red Shreds. The performance begins at 8 p.m. on June 20 and is not suitable for children under 12 years of age.
