Cariboo Festival participation is encouraged

The Cariboo Festival is calling all those in the community who write, act, sing or play instruments to enter the festival.

The Cariboo Festival is calling all those in the community who write, act, sing or play instruments to consider entering this year’s festival.

We just came through another Christmas season of concerts where all of the above disciplines were showcased and did we not enjoy the performances?

So why wait until next Christmas to get working on pieces for another event.

The deadline to enter most festival disciplines is Jan. 31 but the deadlines for school band, creative writing and speech arts is Feb. 15.

Entry forms are included in the festival syllabus which are available at the Open Book.

The syllabus contains information for students of various ages to enter the festival sections including speech arts, creative writing, band and instrumental, vocal and choral, and piano.

The festival brings in adjudicators from around the province and locally to encourage the arts in our community.

Put some thought to polishing work and enter it soon.

The performances for the festival begin in April.

Let’s celebrate the arts of our community.
