It was a weekend for the girls at Gavin Lake last weekend where dozens of girl guides and pathfinders from Williams Lake took part in a canoe camp for the weekend.

With ice still covering parts of lake, participants took to the water to learn canoeing skills and earn badges.

The weekend also gave the girls the opportunity to learn fire building skills and take part in hikes and crafting.

As well as honing their boating skills, the girls also went hiking, made crafts and sharpened up their fire-building skills. Angie Mindus photos
