Call to artists

Sculptors, painters, photographers and graphic artists across Canada are invited to make submissions of their work.

Sculptors, painters, photographers and graphic artists across Canada are invited to make submissions of their work to enhance the new eight-story Teck Acute Care Centre at BC Children’s Hospital.

The call to artists is part of an effort by the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation to collect 400 unique pieces of art work that will be part of 50,000 square feet of available space in the new hospital which is slated for completion in late 2017.

The call for artist submissions was issued by the foundation Monday, March 28.

The release says that recent research suggests that purposeful art in hospitals helps to reduce anxiety in sick children by an astonishing 75 per cent.

Artists are invited to submit their interest by early May to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
