Nutritional consultant and retired RN Gloria Askew will give a presentation on supplements via satellite Skype this Saturday, March 12 at the Pioneer Complex.

The event runs from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. and includes an hour-long presentation with Askew on the value of supplements, says event organizer Leanne Mork.

Mork says Askew doesn’t promote one supplement over another.

“I have heard her speak twice and each time I came back with a whole bunch of notes,” Mork says.

Askew is a sought after speaker in the US, Canada, Holland and Britain. She received her nursing degree and nursing management certificates in Saskatchewan.

Her career has included nursing director in hospital emergency departments in two provinces, and five years as supervisor at Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary. She also studied nutrition for five years and subsequently taught nutrition in three Calgary medical clinics.

Now a private nutritional consultant and weight management specialist Askew has also co-authored a book on wellness and empowering people to understand the maze of supplementation, including meaningful questions to ask prior to buying a supplement.

To register call Mork at 250-392-0720.  There is a small fee.
