Organizers of the Maitreya Loving Kindness Tour of ancient and sacred Buddhist relics were overwhelmed with how well the exhibit was received in Williams Lake last weekend.

“The tour managers were happy with the turn out, expressing that the interest from our little city far exceeded their expectations,” says local organizer Colleen O’Neill of the Gendun Drubpa Buddhist Centre in Williams Lake which invited the exhibit to the community.

“They were touched by the kindness and generosity of our town.”

She says the exhibit was well received with 70 people in attendance for the Friday evening opening and a total of 390 people visiting the exhibit throughout the weekend.

“The feedback from visitors was very positive and people were often very moved by what they were seeing,” O’Neill says.

The exhibit was presented at Thompson Rivers University in Williams Lake Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday before heading to Saskatchewan.
