Boys and Girls Club kids take to the air

The Boys and Girls Club Summer Program had the chance to go on a tour of the Williams Lake Airport on July 13.Flights were provided free of charge by the Williams Lake Flying Club. COPA (Canadian Owners and Pilots Association) is a program that provides a motivational aviation experience for kids aged 7-17. “The opportunity to take part in this program today has been a wonderful experience for the kids,” says program co-ordinator Chelsea Hamblin.“We really strive to offer new experiences in our program and we appreciate the time the Williams Lake Flying Club has taken to provide these kids with this awesome experience, as they use their own planes, fuel and time.” The pilots were Dave Ireland, Mike Barbour, and Bernie Pinette. The kids also went on a tour of the Cariboo Fire Centre.Tom Arduini Helicopters, flight services and airport maintenance personnel Steve Hamblin and Chris Thamerus took the kids for a ride in the fire truck.
