Big Lake Elementary School was among 30 schools in B.C. to receive a $500 School Library Grant from the Sedin Family Foundation.

“At Big Lake School we have a very small school library which has been well-maintained for years by our library technician Kim Benisch,” said principal Holly Zurak.

“Kim has always found ways to get new books into our library and into the hands of kids. Schools are always trying to do more with less. These funds will really help us infuse our library with new and exciting books!”

The school PAC is donating an additional $300 to the library from fundraising they’ve done throughout the year as well.

“We are grateful for their generous contribution as well. We can’t wait to get started,” said Zurak.
