In what has become a Big Creek tradition, the community gathered on Saturday Feb. 12 at the Big Creek Community Hall to hold a pot luck supper and silent auction of donated goods, to raised funds for the 139 Children’s Fundraising Society.

The theme for the auction items is homemade, including baking. A total of $1,243 was raised and donated to the society.

Folks came from the far reaches of the community and beyond to take part, in spite of a drifting snow storm that night.

Among the items in the auction were some tables and benches made by Walt Mychaluk from beetle killed pine he finds on his Bell Ranch and hand saws for his creations.
