Things are shaping up nicely for Arts on the Fly’s 2017 summer festival.

The artist lineup, vendor market, and kids programing is almost locked in and ready to announce.

But even before that, we are excited to get a tiny dose of festival vibes this Wednesday, April 26, when Arts on the Fly Festival Society takes over both floors of the Central Cariboo Arts Centre.

To mix things up this year, we have decided to host our yearly spring fundraiser in Williams Lake rather than Horsefly (don’t worry Horseflinians, we will have something fun coming your way soon).

Providing music for the evening are three summer festival favorites: Twin Peaks, Kitty and the Rooster, and Carolyn Mark. Twin Peaks had a packed house feeling all the feels when they played a Safety Meeting concert in the fall, but we are very excited to host Kitty and the Rooster and Carolyn Mark for the first time.

Kitty and the Rooster are a two-piece surf rock outfit, while Carolyn Mark is a true Canadian alt-country darling.

What ties the three acts together is total sincerity, and an ability to keep a big stupid smile glued to your face.

Our team of eager festival organizers has also been busy collecting fantastic silent auction items from around the community.

Up for grabs are a number of beautiful art pieces, artisan products, concert tickets, such as a pair of ArtsWells passes, an evening at Crooked Lake Resort, and much more.

Check out the Arts on the Fly Facebook page to see a photo gallery of all the items.

There will also be wine and beer.

This is an all ages, kid-friendly event.

Admission is a suggested donation of $15 to $20 at the door.

Doors are at 6:30 p.m. and the music starts at 7 p.m. All proceeds go towards Arts on the Fly’s 2017 summer festival.

We are extremely grateful to the Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Society for their support with this event.

Hope to see you there. Arts on the Fly takes place in Horsefly during July. Check out the Arts on the Fly site at www.artsonthefly.com.
