Art walk underway in downtown Williams Lake

Downtown Williams Lake's self-guided art event is on until Sept. 4, 2024

The Downtown Williams Lake Art Walk is underway, after a kickoff event on Aug. 9 in the city.

Downtown Williams Lake's Amanda Fuller, event coordinator for the art walk, was helping make it all happen, as the event got rolling at the opening.

Two local politicians, Councillor Michael Moses and Mayor Surinderpal Rathor, came to the opening, as well as a few of the artists.

Those who completed the entire art walk on the opening day, Aug. 9 were entered to win a prize package consisting of gift certificates for some of the participating businesses.

The Downtown Art Walk is a self-guided tour through participating downtown venues which host artists from the surrounding area.

Guide books with a wealth of great information, a map of the walk, and a passport, which participants can stamp at each location and then enter to win a $500 prize.

There are 30 locations this year, hosting 26 individual artists and four artist collectives.

The art walk is on until Sept. 4, 2024.
