Alzheimer’s Walk for Memories coming up Sunday

The public is invited to the Williams Lake Seniors Village Sunday morning to participate in the Alzheimer’s Walk for Memories.

The public is invited to the Williams Lake Seniors Village Sunday morning to participate in the Investors Group Alzheimer’s Walk for Memories.

The walk will start at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 1 and offer two routes, says village marketing manager Tammy Deausy.

For people with mobility issues there will be a low impact route around the Seniors Village grounds.

The main route will be along Western Avenue and back to the village.

She says the walk is dedicated to those who are battling Alzheimer’s disease and those being remembered who lost their battle with the disease.

“It is a walk to shed light the disease and to raise funds for continued research for a cure,” Deausy says. “Our hope is to get donations for this amazing cause and have people walk for their memories.”

Following the walk refreshments and snacks will be served at the Seniors Village which is located at 1455 Western Ave.
