A princess is crowned

A smiling Cassandra Robbins (left) is about to be crowned as the Princess of 2011 Esketemc Sepwepemc Gathering Princess; she is the youngest daughter of Esketemc First Nations Chief Fred Robbins and his wife, Karen Robbins.  The crowning of the new princess was performed by one of the powwow organizers, Esketemc First Nation band councilor Bertha Robbins, who was at the arbour all weekend along with co-organizers, Frank and Debbie Robbins. The new princess will surrender the crown at the next Sepwepemc Gathering in Chu Chua (Merritt area) next summer.
