The eighth annual 150 Mile Elementary School’s Spring Fever Family dance was a great success.

“It was a fun-filled family night of dancing, visiting, limbo, prizes, silent auction, concession and raffle draws,” said event organizer Lara Roorda.

Approximately 220 people attended the event organized by the school’s parent advisory council and held in the school gym Friday, April 29.

With dance tunes provided by DJ Amanda, Roorda said the event was made possible by the incredible support of parents, students, teachers, administration and local businesses.

“Although this event is an important fundraiser for PAC sponsored events at 150 Mile Elementary, the primary intention of the Spring Fever Family Dance has always been to promote a sense of belonging for both students and parents in the school,” Roorda said.

As her youngest child is moving on to Grade 7 next year, Roorda said she is stepping down as the dance organizer after eight years.

“I hope that one of the many hard working, involved parents at the school will step forward to continue the tradition,” Roorda said.

She sends out a huge thank you to all of the generous donations from community members and businesses that have supported the school’s family dance over the years.
