Lac La Hache resident Jenni Tanner won a 2002 Pontiac Grand AM through Cariboo GM’s Drive into Spring facebook contest.
People could enter the contest by writing a small story explaining why they should win the car. Others could then vote for a story by clicking “like,” and whoever received the most likes won the car. Tanner’s story received the most likes, almost 370 in fact.
She explained on facebook that one of the family’s vehicles had broken down due to “a horrendous oil leak” that the family tried to have fixed twice. Their other vehicle also wasn’t working due to the engine having blown out about a year ago.
“My husband is now hitchhiking to and from work,” wrote Tanner, adding that her husband not only faced problems getting to and from work, but the family needed a car to get the kids to childcare, go shopping, go to doctor’s appointments, and go on other errands.
