The 2023 season at the Williams Lake Stampede Association has come to an end. What a year to reflect on. Historically, our main focus has been to put on the World Famous Williams Lake Stampede; however, while that is still our main objective, the community is asking for more. We had a number of rentals and events held at the grounds this year, from rodeo action — youth, amateur and professional — to vendor markets and a movie night. We ended the season with the 10th Anniversary of Truth and Reconciliation Day, featuring the exciting Indian Relay Race. Even more fun and enjoyment will be added for the 2024 season.

Our Annual General Meeting was on Sept. 27, with record attendance and all 17 director positions filled. Court Smith once again leads the helm as President for 2024. The Board of Directors will begin preparations for the 96th Williams Lake Stampede this month.

As a non-profit volunteer-run association, we are grateful to the sponsors who continue to support us so very generously. Without your support, our event couldn’t be what it is. And to the many volunteers who continue to put their hands up to scan tickets, crack a beer, man a shovel or even greet those coming through the gates, you rock and we couldn’t do it without you!

Our campground saw another successful year, opening on April 1. We integrated an online booking system that has made bookings easier for campers as well as our hosts. The campground will be closed as of Oct. 10, but follow the Facebook page facebook.com/StampedeCampground for up-to-date information and how to book your 2024 spot.

The grounds get pretty quiet in the winter but our boardroom is available for small meetings or workshop rentals of up to 20 people. Sure Kitchen and Catering is on site to handle all your food needs.

Information on rentals, a calendar of events, sponsorship or how to get involved as a volunteer can be found on our website www.williamslakestampede.com, by contacting the office at 250-392-6585, emailing info@williamslakestampede.com or popping in for a visit at 800 Mackenzie Ave South Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Join us June 28 – July 1, 2024, for all the rodeo action you love with perhaps a little more.
