Mr. Mikes coming to downtown lakecity

Stonewater Restaurant Group of New Westminster is planning to bring a Mr. Mike’s Restaurant to Williams Lake.

Stonewater Restaurant Group of New Westminster is planning to bring a Mr. Mikes Restaurant to Williams Lake and anticipates opening in early 2017.

“We have entered into a long-term lease with a local landlord,” said Stonewater president Darren Flintoff. “He has been working on getting us to Williams Lake for the past four years and put the deal together once we started to look at it seriously.”

Depending on how quick Stonewater can get drawings submitted and the city moves with permits Flintoff said he anticipated the restaurant will open some time early 2017.

The restaurant will be going into the vacant building that formerly housed Sight and Sound on Oliver Street and more recently the Williams Lake Wrestling Club and the building that housed J & E Gifts, said Stefan Hoelzler of Wave Properties, who owns the Sight and Sound building.

“There have been discussions with the City and we will be going through all the proper channels to get everything approved properly,” Hoelzler said. “It will be good to bring something into the downtown core for sure.”
