With a passion for customizing vehicles with lifts and accessories, Williams Lake’s Joe Schellenberg and his wife, Tammy, have taken their dream to the next level by opening their own automotive repair business, JTA 4x4 Ltd.

Located at 1075 North Mackenzie Ave., the business boasts a six-bay service, including a drive-through bay and can even accommodate trailer repairs.

Joe has been a licensed technician since 1997, but has been working in the field since 1989 and considers the craft both a career and a hobby.

Joe and Tammy opened the business in October and added the services of technician Matt Kennedy. Both Joe and Matt are certified automotive government inspectors and JTA 4x4 is a designated government inspection facility. They are also ARI certified.

“Being able to work on different things,” Joe said of what he loves about working in the business.

“I like being able to do modifications. When I don’t get to do the things I want to my vehicles I get to do it to others. We are set up with all the local companies for ordering parts, but in touch with aftermarket companies, or if people are shopping online and have found a product they would like we will source it and try to find the best available price.

“We work on most makes and models of vehicles, not just 4x4s.”

Joe was raised at Rose Lake, and has lived in the area since 1973. He said the region provides so much opportunity, which is why he loves it.

JTA 4x4 Ltd. is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“For all your automotive and 4x4 needs visit JTA 4x4 where we pride ourselves on our customer service and workmanship,” Joe said.
