Black Press Community Media has acquired a significant stake in Connect2Classes Inc, a Seattle based company with ties to Williams Lake.

“Connect2classes sought out Black Press Community Media as a strategic partner because we believe our businesses are perfectly aligned to promote lifelong learning in the Pacific Northwest and to successfully grow our platform,” says Connet2Classes CEO and founder Dallas Garland Jasper.

“I am very pleased that Black Press shares our view about the incredible opportunity ahead for Connect2Classes and look forward to working with their team to expand our promotion of fabulous local educational opportunities.”

Jasper, the daughter of Muriel and Brian Garland, was raised in Williams Lake and delivered newspapers for Black Press at the age of 12.

She graduated from Columneetza and went on to the University of British Columbia where she earned a BA in Economics, then received an MBA in Sustainability from San Francisco Institute of Architecture.

Connect2Classes is a marketplace for local and online classes and the premier source for exploring, comparing and registering for thousands of lifelong learning classes in the Puget Sound region.

“Connect2Classes has established a strong site in the Seattle region and we expect to help accelerate the growth of the business and widen the reach to connect learners with a broad network of trusted class providers,” says Rick O’Connor, President and CEO of Black Press Community Media.
