Young members of the Williams Lake Blue Fins Swim Club held a mini swim meet to test their skills and to celebrate all their hard work throughout the early part of the season.

“The older ‘Fins’ ran the meet while our younger groups swam their events,” said Blue Fins head coach Chad Webb. “It was a great success for all and well done to the little ‘Fins.’”

Also at the meet, club records awarded at the meet for last-year relays to Isabelle Knox, Keanna Saunders, Cristelle Panida, Abby Webb and Taylor Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald also achieved individual records in the 100-metre backstroke, 200-metre backstroke and 400-metre individual medley.

Fourteen Blue Fins will be in Kamloops this weekend for their meet against some of the best in Western Canada.

And, continuing in the spirit of Christmas and giving, the Blue Fins are accepting food donations at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex for its collection to give back to those in need this holiday season.
