Lake City Falcons track and field athletes joined more than 200 competitors May 6 in Prince George at the Sub Zero High School Track Meet.

Held at Masich Stadium, Falcons track and field coach Tim Hurley said his athletes posted some of the strongest performances at the meet with many finishing in the top five.

“True heart and determination represents this group,” Hurley said. “They trained hard all year, set personal goals and made huge gains.”

Next, Hurley said some of the Falcons will move on to regionals in Prince George from May 16-17 with hopes of qualifying for provincials in June.

The Sub Zero Track Meet is open for all students ages nine to 19.

“I’m hoping our club can recruit some younger athletes for next year,” Hurley said.

Hurley can be contacted by e-mail at timd.hurley@sd27.bc.ca and, for meet results, see today’s Scoreboard on Page A21.
