The Williams Lake Indian Band announced Friday its Coyote Rock Golf Course has re-opened for the 2017 golf season.

“We’re excited to announce that Coyote Rock golf course is open again,” WLIB Coun. Willie Sellars said.

“The course is under new management and now operated by Gabe Pukacz, who is also the owner/operator of Bell-E-Acres Golf Course, and his son, Jared Pukacz. We’re excited about the expertise that Gabe and Jared bring to the table, and are sure that this will be an excellent year for Coyote Rock.”

Gabe said he thinks running Coyote Rock Golf Course will be exciting and rewarding.

“Coyote Rock has a huge amount of potential and I’m looking forward to improving the course, bringing in new ideas, new customers and contributing to the success of this business and our regional tourism market,” Gabe said. “Our doors are open now, but we’ll be having a grand opening event in June. We’ll provide some more details on that grand opening soon.”

Coyote Rock Golf Course was closed for the 2016 golf season as a result of the Highway 97 construction activities and placed in care in maintenance.

This season, temporary access to the course will be through the intersection at Chief Will-Yum gas station and along the newly-paved frontage road running parallel to Highway 97.

Additional access points along Highway 97 will be in place by fall of this year as the Highway 97 four-laning work program completes.

“There’s certainly been a ton of work going on around the course,” Sellars said. “But the course is in excellent shape and the public is going to be amazed with the Coyote Rock subdivision that has been developed around the golf course. We’ll be completing the final phase of our works in that subdivision this summer and will begin marketing our residential lots by the end of the calendar year.

“The views from these lots are amazing. There is also lots of interest in our commercial lots, and we’ll be making some big announcements about those lots within the next few months.”
