Chabot picks up silver at BC Cup

Sam Chabot of Williams Lake was the lone lakecity player May 11-14 at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton at the U15 BC Cup of Hockey.

Chabot was a part of Team Maroon in the eight-team round robin and helped his squad to an undefeated record in their round robin games with Chabot tallying two goals and five assists.

They then played in the final versus Team White and fell 6-3.

Participants at the BC Cup were from throughout the province and Yukon and all attended evaluation camps in April. The top players received invites to the provincial tournament.

On Thursday, May 11 and Friday, May 23 players took part in on- and off-ice drills and evaluations, as well as practiced with their teams in preparation from the tournament.

BC Hockey’s U15 Program of Excellence (POE) was introduced in April of 2015 with open regional camps where the top 160 players were selected to attend the provincial tournament.
