Alexis Creek School hosted a track and field meet for rural schools and distance education students this past Thursday, June 1.
The event was well attended by both district and band schools including Tatla Lake, Tl’etinqox School, Tsi Del Del School, GROW Distance Education, Naghtaneqed and Alexis Creek.
Events included a cross country run, 100-metre dash, 400-metre race, triple jump, long jump, broad jump, shot put and speed pitch.
Winners in each age category are as follows:
9-10 girl: Lena Sheppard (Distance Education)
9-10 boy: Meshach Emke (Tatla Lake)
11-12 girl: Lauren Marklinger (Distance Education)
11-12 boy: Jacob Schultz (Distance Education)
13-14 girl: Kayle Guichon (Tsi Del Del)
13-14 boy: Isaac Schultz (Distance Education) and Ethan Jensen (Tatla Lake)
15+ girl: Ashley Langen (Distance Education)
15+ boy: Dorian Lavoie (Tatla Lake)
