A reminder that flags will be lowered and Canada’s original Reg Ensign will be raised in a sunset ceremony taking place this evening, April 7 starting at 6 p.m. at the Cenotaph next to city hall. The flag raising is part of the 100th anniversary ceremonies honouring Canadian participation in the Battle of Vimy Ridge in France during the First World War. A parade and wreath laying ceremony takes place Sunday, April 9 starting at 1 p.m.
