Marjorie Evelyn Margetts, 96, passed away peacefully at home on March 7th surrounded by her loving family.

Marj was born July 23rd, 1920 in Vancouver to George and Catherine Parsons. She was born and raised in the Mt. Pleasant area of Vancouver. She married the love of her life, Bill Margetts on November 29th, 1941 and in August 1946 they moved themselves and their daughter Pat up to Williams Lake.

Marj had many interesting jobs throughout the years from book binding telephone books, managing the 150 Mile House hotel, handling the Greyhound depot, working at a dentist office and what she most well-known for was Marj’s ceramics which she ran for 25 years. Half of the housewives in WL spent some week nights in Marj’s basement making ceramics.

In the earlier years, Marj was involved in the Legion Auxiliary, curling, pottery club, WL minor hockey, WL fire department ladies auxiliary and catering for a number of community banquets and suppers.

At The Margetts house the doors were always open. Bill and Marj welcomed kids to stay as long as they need. Marj always made sure everyone had a full belly and a warm bed.

Marj will be remembered by her family and friends for her entertaining personality, her quick wit and her warm, heartfelt hugs. She will be missed by her lifelong friends Carole, Tillie, Betty and Marg. She was loved by many in Glen Arbour.
