Lee Popoff

Feb. 24 1933 -

Sept. 16 2010

It is with profound sorrow that our family announces the passing of our cherished wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Leona Marie Popoff (nee Hoyer) on September 16th, 2010 at the Kelowna General Hospital.

Lee was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on February 24th, 1933 and lived in Grand Forks and Oyama before finally settling in Williams Lake in 1952. Mom’s whole life was dedicated to family and Nanny’s house was the centre of our lives. Her vitality, sense of humor, intelligence, style and charm will remain with all who knew her, and will forever shine in our hearts.

Left to mourn are her adoring husband Peter, devoted children, Daryl (Connie) Buchholtz, Brenda Weekes (Glen Lyne), Gaylene (Mark) Desautels, Tanya (Chad) Welsh, Elaine (Don) MacFarlane and Bobby Essaunce, as well as her 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren who were so blessed to have her actively involved in their lives. She is pre-deceased by her parents Ben and Terry Hoyer and survived by her brothers Paul Hoyer and Harvey (Ann) Hoyer.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in her memory.
