Age 61. It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Larry Dowe of Williams Lake, B.C., and formerly of Parrsboro, N.S. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 suddenly after an unexpected illness. Larry was the son of Bonnie (Pemberton) Dowe and the late Allison Corbett Dowe. Larry worked for 40 years at Tolko Industries as a forklift operator. His passions included nature (especially wildlife), his friends, family and travel. In addition to his mother, Larry leaves behind his sister, Heather (George) Kinnear; half-sister, Laura (Dave) Fowler; his brothers, Darren (Angela) Dowe; Ambrose Dowe; nieces, Lacey (Carter) Remington, Megan Dowe; nephews, Robert, Catlin and Travis Dowe. He also leaves his very recent ancée, Cindy Tulk; best friend of 60 years, Keith & Peggy Forbes; godson, Raymond Forbes; longtime friends, Herve and Cathy Verhaeghe; Cherise La Flamme and girls, Denise, Angie and Daisia; as well as many others. He was predeceased by a brother, Artlen. Larry’s dream was to return home to Nova Scotia upon retirement, and was in the process of doing so before his illness. With open arms we embrace his arrival, where a service will be held at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, Nova Scotia on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 2 p.m., Rev. Dr. Brian Spence o ciating. Burial in St. George’s Anglican Cemetery. Reception to follow. Memorial donations in Larry’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
