Julia Lucas, 69, of Bella Coola, BC, relocated to to her eternal home of Heaven, in the early morning hours of November 23, 2016, while in Vancouver, BC.
Julia was born in Bella Coola to Simon & Jemima Schooner on June 2, 1944. Julia married the love of her life, Chuck Lucas, on June 16, 1975. Together they raised 4 children, and also planted & pastored four Native Churches; In Duncan, Williams Lake, Prince George and Bella Coola.
Julia received her Bachelor of Arts, In First Nations Studies, through the University of Northern British Columbia, in May of 2003. She obtained this through Weekend University at the former UCC, present TRU. She also became an Ordained Minister in the Foursquare Gospel Church of Canada in February of 2009.
Julia along with her husband Chuck have been minstering in Bella Coola since the fall of 2006. Under the umbrella of their non-profit organization “Qwyaltwa Healing Society”, they have served weekly community breakfasts at “The House of Comfort”, free of charge to the community.
Julia is survived by her husband Chuck Lucas; 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Plus, many adopted and extended family members.
