It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Helen Buchanan, on June 13, 2017 at the Williams Lake Seniors Village.
Helen was born in Pleasant Valley, Saskatchewan on August 30, 1923. She was predeceased by her husband, Ken, in 2007.
Helen was a teacher for 40 years. She taught at Skyline, Glendale and Marie Sharpe Schools. Teaching and education were her passions and she cared very much about her students.
She was also a very devoted Mom to her children and grandchildren, and her family has many happy memories of time spent with her.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathie Shimaura and her husband, Wes; son Scott and his wife Elayna Grace; grandchildren Liz and Emily and their respective husbands, Kevin and James; and great-grandchildren Sam, Anna and Aiden.
Helen spent the last years of her life at the Williams Lake Seniors Village where she was lovingly cared for.
There will be a Memorial Tea at the Seniors Village on June 23 at 10:00 am, and a private Family Service at a later date.
Helen will be forever cherished and remembered by her family and friends.
