April 13, 1918 ~ July 1, 2017

Betty Kennedy passed away on Canada Day July 1st, 2017. She was at home surrounded by family and friends. Born Elizabeth Warren, she was raised in Calgary with her 4 sisters. While attending a dance for the local officers in training for WW II she met her future husband John. After the war they were married in 1946 and moved to Edmonton. In the next 7 years she had 5 children and was a busy mother.

Betty was loving, creative, intuitive, and witty. She and John retired to the Okanagan in 1979 and there they enjoyed walking, camping, gardening and canning fruit.

In 2008 at the age of 90, she moved to Williams Lake to live with her daughter Linda and son-in-law Roger. She continued to enjoy trips to the Chilcotin and Vancouver Island. Most of her time was spent reading and appreciated the fact that the Williams Lake Library had a diverse selection of large print books.

Betty is survived by her children Janet, Joanne (Gord), Drew (Lorraine), Linda (Roger), and Darcy (Heather), 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
