August 20, 1993 ~ May 10, 2017

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our brave, kind, courageous son and brother, Caleb Austin Gill.

Caleb was a remarkable, inspiring young man who always put others before himself, and made everyone around him feel at ease.

Caleb’s life was not long, but he lived it without fear. He was always the first to jump off a high cliff, sit at the front of a roller coaster, and face his diagnosis head on. He was our walking encyclopedia, so full of knowledge.

Caleb loved playing hockey, skiing, camping, mountain biking and cheering on his favourite sports teams (The Montreal Canadiens, Steelers, Tottenham Hot Spurs, and many more).

Caleb never complained, never felt sorry for himself, and fought cancer like a true champion. You could hear him say, “such is life”, and “it is what it is”.

With shattered hearts he leaves behind his dad and mom; Chad and Malinda, his sister and brother-in-law; Kylie and Mat, his nanny, grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins and friends.

Caleb and his parents appreciated beyond words the support received from this community and family, helping Caleb to scratch a few things off of his bucket list. At Caleb’s request, there will be no service, but he wanted everyone to do something that they love and that makes them smile, and to think of him.

“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment, until it becomes a memory” - Dr. Seuss.

In lieu of flowers, a bursary has been set up at The Williams Lake & District Credit Union under ‘Bursary in Memory of Caleb Gill’.

Cheers to the ultimate gentleman and scholar,

we will miss you Caleb.
