April 27, 1949 - August 9, 2017

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved son, husband and father on August 9, 2017. Bruce was born on April 27, 1949 in Athabasca, Alberta, the eldest of six children born to Jim and Shirley Cordingley. Growing up in his youth on the farm in Boyle, Bruce’s wild heart and sense of adventure prompted him to explore life away from the farm and brought him out to British Columbia in 1969. He spent his career in Williams Lake working at the mill. Bruce met Debbie Plant in 1969 and they married in 1971. They raised two daughters. Dad was always most happy puttering around his homestead. Dad was an avid sports fan and loved watching hockey, and complaining about the Oilers. He also had a real passion for anything Ford related. Sun on the deck, blues music in the background playing, Stella the dog on his lap, company by his side, a cold drink in hand without a care in the world. He was a good man, always a quick wit and sarcastic smile at the helm. Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Debbie; his mother Shirley, his daughters Trina (Jay), and Macey (Phillip); many nephews and nieces; two brothers Vern (Darlene), and Glen; three sisters, Edith, Dawn (Darwin), and Sandra. Thanks to staff at Prince George Hospice and all of our family and friends for your kindness and support during this sad time. Memorial for Dad is to take place Saturday, August 26 at noon-2pm at 150 Mile House Elementary School gymnasium. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to 150 Mile House Fire Department.
