Bill William Irving Cook

November 26, 1944 - September 20, 2017

Bill Cook, formerly of Dawson Creek, BC, passed away early the morning of September 20th, 2017 after his struggle with cancer.

Our dad was 72 years of age and was surrounded with love when he passed; both from those at his bedside and from those who held him in their heart.

Born in Victoria, BC to Walter and Mabel (Poirier) Cook; sibling to Dorothy, Arthur, Nelson and Walter, our dad lived a long and fulfilling life.

Dad leaves behind our mother, Betty Marie (Reid) Cook, who he was married to for 52 years, the three of us and our families: Deanna Thomas (Herb, Joel & Shane), Paul Cook (Kauri and Bryher), Joanne Parkinson (Hunter) and multiple other extended family members and friends who knew and loved him.

While we had to let him go, our dad has left us each with many fond memories.  Our dad had a crazy sense of humor and well known for quick comebacks.  He taught us the importance of telling those close to you that you love them and telling them often.

I am sure that each of us can still feel his hug and hear the sound of his voice.

Mom and dad moved to William's Lake from Dawson Creek almost 4 years ago.

During this time they have met many wonderful new people.  Our dad spoke highly of all of you and he felt blessed to have you in his life.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. DeSwardt, the Williams Lake Home and Community Nurses, the staff at the Deni House and to Angela at the funeral home. Your professionalism and caring was evident in the time you took to get to know both my mom and dad as individuals.

Thank you.
