Barry was born in Victoria, BC on April 21st, 1952. He passed away in Campbell River, BC on September 28th, 2010, following a courageous battle with cancer. Barry was predeceased by his brother Rick in 1990. He is survived by his loving family: Parents, Hamilton and Doreen; his Wife, Linda; Children, Chris, David (Jolene), Jenn, and Marcia (Trent); his Grandchildren, Taylor, Katlynn, Garett (Abby), David (Kim); Great-Granddaughter, Jayden; his Brothers, Bill (Gretchen) and Mike (Karen); his niece, Sarah and his nephews, Geordie, Jamie and Tyler. Barry is also survived by many loving family members and good friends.
Barry was born and raised in Victoria, BC. In his youth, he enjoyed swimming, music and scouts. He relocated to Tatla Lake with the Forest Service, then to Williams Lake and on to Campbell River. He worked for the Ministry of Forest Fire Protection for 35 years, retiring in 2007. Throughout his life, Barry enjoyed curling and travelling.
A Service to Celebrate Barry’s Life, was held at Sutton’s Funeral Chapel in Campbell River, BC, on Tuesday, October 5th, 2010, with cremation entrusted to Mission Hill Crematorium.
