Anthony (AKA Tony) Broderick, 77, of Williams Lake passed away surrounded by family on June 28, 2017 after a four and a half year battle with Fibrosarcoma, cancer.

Tony will be missed dearly by his son Kevin (Cristina), Krew, and Chance; daughter Kristy (Jens), Martina, Karlee and Katie and son, Kieran (Natalie), Makena and Maya. Tony also leaves behind his brothers: Joseph Broderick and John (Betty) Broderick, sister Clara (Richard) Allen, and brother-in-law Wilfred Anderson and nieces: Kim, Holly, Tracey, Lana, Tanya and Valerie and nephews Chris and Theodore, as well as other extended family and friends. Tony is predeceased by his wife Joan (March 11, 2017) and parents, Josef and Katarina, as well as sister-in-law Jean.

Tony was born in Dome Creek, BC on September 26, 1939. He attended Dome Creek Elementary School from Kindergarten to Grade 7 and then rode the train to McBride, BC where he continued Grades 8 to 12. In 1960 Tony attended Diesel Engineering in Vancouver, BC. In 1968, Tony married his soul mate Joan Anderson and they started their family in 1971. In 1979, Tony moved his family to Williams Lake where he lived for most of his life, before heading to Prince George, BC for the last two and a half months of his life. Tony was the ultimate “Jack of All Trades” and could build or repair anything. Tony worked for Finning Tractor for 17 years, then was a paramedic for five years and then taught automotive mechanics at Cariboo College. He finally finished the last 10 years of his working career as a Real Estate Agent for Crosina Realty.

Tony enjoyed life with family and friends throughout BC and often travelled to Dome Creek, BC to enjoy the fresh air and the scenery. Tony also hunted moose with his brothers for over 40 years and enjoyed fishing several of the Fraser River tributaries.

Tony was an ideal family man. Dad was always there for us unconditionally. He was an intelligent, kind, caring, compassionate man with a wonderful sense of humour. We will cherish all memories of wonderful family times together.

Tony was diagnosed with Fibrosarcoma, cancer in January 2013. The cancer started in his calf muscle and then spread into his tissues and eventually into his bones, lungs and pelvis. Despite living in constant pain, Tony was extremely determined and forever positive to live life to its fullest. Tony fought his condition right to the end and was bound and determined to beat it! Tony will be forever missed and always in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cariboo Bethel Church on Saturday September 30th at 1:00 pm. Light refreshments will be provided following the service.
