Wind and rain kicks off short work week in the Cariboo

Temperatures still well below average for time of year

Cariboo residents are waking up to rain and wind Tuesday morning, with below average overnight temperatures expected throughout the week.

Environment Canada is forecasting mainly cloudy skies with 30 percent chance of showers. Wind is northwest at 30 km/h and the daytime high will only get to 6C.

Tonight Williams Lake residents can expect mainly cloudy skies, wind up to 15 km/h with a nighttime low of -3C and a wind chill of -5C overnight.

Wednesday is forecasted to be sunny with a daytime high of 7C, followed by cloudy skies and highs of 9 for Thursday and Friday and below freezing at night.

Normal temperatures for this time of year are 12C during the day and 1C overnight.

Drive BC is not reporting any major incidents in the Interior currently.

Highway 97 south has a few fog patches near Clinton drivers should watch for as well as road construction work between Sutton Rd and North Lakeside Dr (three km south of Williams Lake) until Wed. Oct 31. The road is reduced to single lane alternating traffic with expected five minute delays and deep potholes in sections due to the wet weather on the weekend. Motorists are asked to watch for flagging personnel and signage.
