Tree planter injured after being run over by truck

A tree planter has been sent to hospital with undetermined injuries.

A tree planter was sent to hospital with undetermined injuries Tuesday morning after being run over by a work truck at the Chief Will-Yum Campground Tuesday morning.

At roughly 9 a.m., Williams Lake RCMP responded to a report of the pedestrian-involved collision at the campground located on Highway 97 in 150 Mile House.

Police said a 24-year-old man was injured when he was accidentally run over by a Ford F-450 pickup truck in the campground. The man was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries where he remains.

A collision reconstructionist was called to assist and WorkSafe BC was on scene as well.

The investigation is ongoing and at this time and causal factors have yet to be determined. Police do not believe alcohol to be a factor in this matter. Names of those involved are not being released.
