Street drugs, prohibited weapons and cash were seized from a residence in Williams Lake by the RCMP as part of the work bring done by the newly formed Crime Reduction Unit.

Williams Lake RCMP officers netted multiple firearms, street drugs and more than $20,000 in cash while executing a search warrant in Williams Lake over the long weekend.

Insp. Jeff Pelley said police seized drugs suspected to be crystal meth, cocaine, heroin, shatter (a derivative of hash oil) and marijuana from a residence on Moxon Place on Sunday, May 28. The firearms, which were prohibited or modified, included a rifle and a restricted handgun.

Pelley credits the bust to an extensive police investigation carried out by members of the newly formed Crime Reduction Unit as well as general duty members.

“Acquiring prohibited weapons will not be tolerated and we’ll hold them fully accountable through the court system,” Pelley said Tuesday.

Along with the items seized, police have arrested two men in relation to this. Pelley said both men are local to Williams Lake and known to police and are expected to make a court appearance in Williams Lake Provincial Court sometime this week.
