Power outage affects downtown Williams Lake

A portion of the downtown area of Williams Lake has been without power since 11:56 a.m. today, May 5 after a thunderstorm rolled through the city.

A total of 93 customers were affected in the areas of South of Cameron Street., East of MacKenzie Avenue, North of Oliver Street and West of Proctor Street.

At 2:20 only eight downtown customers were still without power.

Five customers in the Fox Mountain area continue to remain without power this afternoon.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Williams Lake area throughout this afternoon.
