The Williams Lake RCMP are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Comer Station Beer and Wine Store Sunday evening and request anyone with information regarding the violent incident to contact CrimeStopppers at 1-800-222-8477 or the local detachment.

An employee of the Comer Station Pub Beer and Wine Store had a flare gun aimed at his head during a violent armed robbery that took place over the weekend in Williams Lake.

“One of them had a mask and gloves and a flare gun that he held six inches from my employee’s face,” said the owner, who did not want to be named. “The other man was wearing a hoodie and a mask.”

The two male suspects entered the Comer Station Beer and Wine Store in the 3800 block of Mackenzie Avenue at 9:18 p.m. on Sunday evening while two staff members were in the store.

“One of the men was a regular here. My staff recognized his voice when he asked for product as well as money and got the product that he always buys,” the owner said. “Businesses need to be vigilant because it’s starting up again. Once there’s a spurt like this they will probably go around to a few businesses.”

Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to please call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or the Williams Lake detachment at 250-392-6211.

Crime Stoppers also subscribes to web tips at www.bccrimestoppers.com.

The Williams Lake RCMP are also investigating a break and enter at Beaver Valley Feeds that took place some time overnight Saturday.

Police said the incident occurred after the store closed on Saturday, May 27 and it was discovered that items were stolen when staff opened the store on Sunday morning.

Anyone with information about the break and enter is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or the Williams Lake RCMP at 250-392-6211.

On April 25, Beaver Valley Feeds store staff interrupted a break and enter in progress, with police responding quickly to make an arrest.

Mitchell Hunlin, 37, is facing several charges in relation that incident.

In another incident, sometime between May 28 and May 29 RCMP Staff Sgt. Del Byron said the front window of Ming’s Restaurant was smashed and cash was taken from the business.

Police are currently obtaining video of the area to assist in that investigation.
