Summit Helicopters made an emergency landing of an air ambulance in a field off Anderson Road just south of Williams Lake last Sunday afternoon.

Amy Robertson, communications officer for the Provincial Health Services Authority, said the helicopter was an air ambulance, but there were no patients on board and the two pilots and two paramedics in the helicopter were unharmed.

“It was in cruise flight from Williams Lake to Kamloops when the number two engine cowling came off the aircraft striking the tail rotor,” said Chris Krepski, spokesperson with Transportation Safety Board of Canada Friday. “The crew on board decided to do a cautionary landing into a field.”

The incident occurred May 28 at 3:48 p.m.

“We did not deploy and we are not investigating,” Krepski said.
