Emergency crews responded to a single vehicle incident during the noon hour Friday when a driver struck the lamp post outside the Royal Bank on Mart Street in Williams Lake.

The top of the lamp post hit and smashed an upper storey window in the bank.

Williams Lake RCMP, BC Ambulance and Cariboo Search and Rescue attended the scene.

RCMP Sgt. Richard LeBeuf said the 88-year-old female driver hit the gas instead of the brakes. She wasn't injured and an investigation continues.
