Williams Lake man 'badly assaulted'

The Williams Lake RCMP are putting a call out to witnesses who may have seen a man badly assaulted near the Stampede Grounds Thursday night.

Police say the victim, a First Nations man in his 30s, was assaulted sometime between 7 p.m. and midnight, possibly in the area of the Stampede Grounds.

The victim hasn’t been able to relate many details of the assault, police say.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to contact the Williams Lake RCMP detachment at 250-392-6211.

Witnesses can also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) to remain anonymous.
