Principal and vice-principal appointments announced

Cataline Elementary and 150 Mile Elementary principals to change places

Several schools in the Williams Lake area will have new principals and vice-principals next fall.

Transfers and appointments were announced this week by Acting Superintendent of Schools Mark Wintjes.

The principals at Cataline Elementary School and 150 Mile House Elementary School will switch places.

Calvin Williams, currently principal of 150 Mile Elementary School, will become the principal at Cataline Elementary School.

John Silkstone, the principal at Cataline Elementary School will become principal at 150 Mile House Elementary School.

Craig Munroe, who is now vice-principal at Lake City Secondary School, will become the principal at Mountview Elementary School.

In the 100 Mile House area Ty Lytton, now vice-principal at Peter Skene Ogden Secondary School, has been transferred to Horse Lake Elementary School as principal effective May 20.

Wintjes also announced that human resources officer Taryn Aumond was the successful candidate for the position of manager of human resources.

Wintjes said the director of instruction – education services position, as per Board Policy 2211 – Selection of Excluded Educational Administrators, needs to be ratified by the SD27 board of education. The acting superintendent, the chair of the interview committee, will make his recommendation to the board on May 23.
