Living on the shores of Lac La Hache wildlife artist Bobbie Crane can’t help but be inspired by the abundance of nature surrounding her.

Working in acrylics her paintings are sensitive and realistic portrayals of the birds and wildlife she sees around her and a reflection of the Cariboo lifestyle she enjoys.

“My goal is for every painting to tell a story and to touch people in ways nothing else can,” Crane says in her biography.

Every days she sees eagles and osprey soaring around the tree tops.

Squirrels and chipmunks scamper along the rockery in her yard while deer, moose and fox pass through as she tours the gardens to see the newest blossoms open to the sunshine.

For most of her professional career, Crane has concentrated on leading art classes and workshops.

Many artists from the Williams Lake area have taken workshops with her.

Crane says she feels that painting is a creative place where students can always find peace, hope and joy in every brush stroke.

In 2015 she became a juried “active member” of the Federation of Canadian Artists and is currently working on achieving the associated member status.

Crane has exhibited solo shows at Parkside Art Gallery in 100 Mile House and the Quesnel Art Gallery in Quesnel.

She was awarded the first and second place People’s Choice Award respectively in the 2015 and 1016 Williams Lake Art Walk. She was also awarded honourable mention and People’s Choice Award in the Cariboo Artist Guild’s 2015 and 2016 exhibitions.

In addition to paintings Crane has some painted wooden birds in the show.
